This Healthy “KFC” Chicken Recipe is a Must Try

What's up everybody? I am going to teach you how to make healthy KFC style chicken at home, and I am not exaggerating when I say this: if there is any recipe you are going to try from the socials, this is the one. It is quick, it is delicious, and it is a huge hit with the family. In the official words of my son, it is "bussin'."

This is one of my favorite recipes because it delivers that crispy, juicy, flavorful chicken we all crave, but in a much healthier way. It takes less than 45 minutes and you will not be disappointed.

Ingredients

Amount Ingredient
4 to 6 Chicken Breasts
1/2 cup All Purpose Flour
1/2 cup Corn Starch
1 tbsp Onion Powder
1 tbsp Paprika
1 tbsp Mustard Powder
1/2 tbsp Garlic Powder
1/2 tbsp Black Pepper
To taste Salt
For frying Olive Oil

Instructions

  1. Prep the Chicken: The most important first step is to get your chicken as dry as possible. Lay the four to six chicken breasts out and use a paper towel to pat them down until they are completely dry. You do not want any wetness on this chicken. Once dry, season both sides with a little bit of salt, garlic powder, and pepper.

  2. Make the Coating: In a medium bowl, combine the flour, corn starch, onion powder, paprika, mustard powder, and the half tablespoon of garlic powder and pepper. Mix it all up really well.

  3. Heat the Pan: Get a medium skillet on the stove over medium high heat. Add enough olive oil to coat the bottom of the pan.

  4. Coat the Chicken: Take one piece of seasoned chicken at a time and dip it into your flour and corn starch mixture. Get both sides really well coated. You want the chicken to be completely white with the coating.

  5. Cook to Perfection: Carefully place the coated chicken into the hot pan. Let it cook for about five to seven minutes on each side, depending on the thickness of the chicken. You are looking for a beautiful, deep brown golden color.

  6. Serve and Enjoy: Once cooked, let the chicken rest for a minute before serving. This recipe always comes out juicy and incredibly flavorful.
